I Can Only Go Up From Here

A New Hampshire Yankee in Los Angeles. Will Oggy find fame and Fortune? Will Oggy get his car to run? Will Oggy even find a job? Probably not, but won't it be funny to read about how close he gets?

Open Letter to Baseball General Managers: Ignore A Rod!

Mr. Rodriguez wants to make $25+ million a year. If those are his priorities then let him go to Japan. They'll love him over there, like they love The Simpsons and McDonalds. Americans do not need that attitude in our ballparks. It sends a bad message to kids. Money is more important than winning, loyalty is old fashioned, announcing your private business during the world series is acceptable. These are bad messages to send and A Rod should not be rewarded. He shouldn't be punished either. He simply should not play baseball in America this year or ever again. Ignore him. His agent of evil, Scott Boras, will eventually pimp A Rod to Japan where he can do whatever he likes. For once, let American journalists hop on a plane for 11 hours to take pictures of an American eating Sushi and going to massage parlors with street hookers. It will take this curse out of MLB and we'll all be happier for it. Americans want players like Jacoby Ellsbury and David Eckstein and Derek Jeter. A Rod is pure poison. Please make a silent agreement to ignore him and his agent and let then all go to Japan. Prove to everyone that greed and mercenary attitudes are not welcome in MLB. If you don't then you've lost all respect for yourself. Have some pride. Don't be like A Rod. Anyway, he obviously doesn't guarantee any trophies. He'll bat .340 in the regular season (only if you can put someone like Matsui behind him) and then hit into 7 double plays in the post season. Is that what you want for $25 million? Just say No to A Rod.
