I Can Only Go Up From Here

A New Hampshire Yankee in Los Angeles. Will Oggy find fame and Fortune? Will Oggy get his car to run? Will Oggy even find a job? Probably not, but won't it be funny to read about how close he gets?

Oggy’s stoned Interpretation of “Take These Chains From My Heart” by Hank Williams

Oggy’s stoned Interpretation of “Take These Chains From My Heart” by Hank Williams

Take these chains from my heart and set me free
Oggy’s heart is actually speaking to him, asking him to stop smoking pot.

You’ve grow cold and no longer care for me

Oggy’s use of pot shows that he doesn’t care about his life.

All my faith in you is gone but the heartaches linger on

Because Oggy’s heart is actually attached to Oggy, it can’t leave. So it is admitting that it would leave if it could, that it understands that Oggy will never change.

Take these chains from my heart and set me free

Oggy’s heart is asking to be killed.

Take these tears from my eyes and let me see

Oggy’s heart is asking for all his blood to be spilled out.

Just a spark of the love that use to be

Because then Oggy could see that there isn’t very much blood left.

If you love somebody new let me find a new love too

If Oggy doesn’t care about this life then let’s all go back to dust.

Take these chains from my heart and set me free

Oggy’s heart is asking to be killed.

Give my heart just a word of sympathy

Oggy’s heart is asking for sympathy.

Be as fair to my heart as you can be
Oggy’s heart just wants a merciful ending.

Then if you no longer care for the love being there
Since Oggy is to blame.

Take these chains from my heart and set me free
Oggy’s heart has had enough.
