No news is good news
Oggy tried to make a better life for himself but he is out of practice.
It doesn't help that his parents have turned their backs on him.
He thinks it is funny that they are tired of being parents...when exactly did they ever START being parents?
Oggy was the foster kid of the family and only when he compared his relationship with his parents to other people did he realize that there was no realationship.
He used to call his father once a month to hear, "Why haven't you gotten a job?" to which Oggy replies, "I've been sick. I got bronchitus. I have $400 in the bank and rent is $500." To which his father replies, "It sounds like you made some bad choices."
That really isn't a relationship.
Really.
The crazy old man on the corner would say just about the same thing.
So Oggy stopped calling.
Oggy shouldn't expect much from his father since his father was never loved either. His father is just ignorant of most everything and is lost in the world. He can not begin to understand Oggy's life.
So Oggy has nothing to work with.
He steals food from stores.
Spends three hours on a bus because his car broke down.
Rides his bike to the car part store.
Then his bike breaks down so Oggy walks to get more tools.
He has to stop to cough out the phlegm in his chest but it isn't getting worse so there isn't much he can do about it.
He wants to go to the clinic but is sort of afraid at what they might say.
He couldn't pay for treatment even if he needed it.
George gives him antibiotics, which is all he needs.
George and Oggy are going to a seminar on how to buy a house.
It should be good for a laugh.
George will steal all the cookies.
Oggy will wish he was like the young couples with lots of money and nice clothes who are in the audience.
Oggy will also steal cookies and cough phlegm into his napkin.
