I Can Only Go Up From Here

A New Hampshire Yankee in Los Angeles. Will Oggy find fame and Fortune? Will Oggy get his car to run? Will Oggy even find a job? Probably not, but won't it be funny to read about how close he gets?

THrowing Good Money after Bad

Oggy met with Patrick William Salvo on Wednesday.
Patrick was a writer for Rolling Stones before his day passed him by.
Patrick now is a writer with a color history and potentially good contacts for Oggy.
Oggy needs contacts to get his book published.
Oggy's book, for those who don't know, is about the Red Sox and Friendship and '80s pop culture.
The connection between music and baseball seemed to fit Patrick.
Patrick turned out to be the biggest Yankees fan in Venice.
This would be a strange relationship if it worked out.
Patrick asked for $100 to read the book.
Oggy felt that he had reached a point where by paying at least he would be taking a chance.
The chance is that he will lose $100 and nothing will happen.
Or maybe Patrick mentions the book to a guy at lunch and a phone call leads to a meeting and Oggy gets his book published.
$100 is lottery tickets would stand a worst chance of winning.
So Oggy Gave the miney and the book to Patrick.

Today Oggy got a call on the phone.
Patrick had throat cancer and talks kind of strangely.
The message was something like, "GOt your story...not bad...what is this note? "Want results?" I am going to give you comments. Those are results. If you want to move forward then we'll talk. I'm on page 5. Don't call me I'll call you when I'm done."
THere was more that Oggy couldn't understand.
He felt that the chance of something happening with this were very slim.
It didn't help that in printing the story out at the printer all of the italics were lost as well as the page numbers and lots of formatting unique to word perfect.
Real nice.
Real professional.
But Oggy has no printer.
Oggy just threw away $100.
