I Can Only Go Up From Here

A New Hampshire Yankee in Los Angeles. Will Oggy find fame and Fortune? Will Oggy get his car to run? Will Oggy even find a job? Probably not, but won't it be funny to read about how close he gets?

almost dying

Oggy was riding home on his motorcycle. He wasn't going fast. He never goes fast. But traffic was bad and up ahead, across an intersection, he saw a driver thrying to cross from the left side over two lanes to get in Oggy's lane. Oggy moved to the right to give the driver room. Oggy sped up to get through the intersection and then realized, too late that the driver was trying to cross four lanes of traffic and cross right in front of Oggy. Oggy was going to hit the car in the passenger door. He was going to fly over the car and break his arm on the road. His life was never going to be the same again.
but the brakes held. HE locked up both brakes. front and rear. He fishtailed and somehow, instinctively, he released exactly when he should have fallen down.
the driver of the car was a real winner. he stopped in the middle of the lane to make sure Oggy would have a good chance to hit him. Oggy came to a stop about six inches from the car. The car then drove off and Oggy shook his head. WTF!
He didn't die because he wasn't driving fast. His mistake was not allowing the driver more room to make an idiotic move. If he had been driving even slower then the other driver would have gone in front of him and Oggy would not have thought twice about it. Because he sped up at the last second to get through the intersection, Oggy had to lock the brakes up. Oggy hates locking the brakes up.
Then Oggy drove off and ended up in a maze of roads trying to get around traffic.
He was tired and his back was a mess. He had fixed lighting and stuff all day. when he got home his dog had turned the trash can over in the kitchen and thrown garbage around the house.
Oggy just shook his head.
